COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES

We supply (free of charge) street directories and tourist maps. All rentals begin and end at our Broadbeach Office. Coolangatta airport pick up and drop off is available upon request subject to additional fees.

DRIVER

All drivers must hold a valid full driver’s licence (not a provisional or learners licence). A current acceptable Australian, overseas or international licence (in English) is required from all drivers. We do not charge extra for up to 2 additional drivers.

CHARGES

Rental duration is for a 24 hour period. Full payment is to be made at commencement of hire. Late returns are charged at $25 per hour.

DRIVERS AGE

Minimum age for all drivers is 21 years. Drivers between the ages of 21 – 24 years will have a compulsory additional excess surcharge. (See below). Drivers over the age of 24 years with a full licence have the option of lowering the standard excess which is $2500.00 by paying an additional fee (see below).

INSURANCE EXCESS

As with all insured vehicles an excess applies to cover the unfortunate instance where damage or loss has been caused to the vehicle while on hire. Our vehicles carry a standard excess of $2500. We can offer you the choice of lowering this excess liability by selecting one of the following options.

Option 1: Reduce excess to $ 250.00 pay $30.00 per day extra
Option 2: Reduce excess to $ 550.00 pay $20.00 per day extra
Option 3: Reduce excess to $ 750.00 pay $15.00 per day extra
Option 4: Reduce excess to $1500.00 pay $10.00 per day extra

Young drivers 21-24 years base excess is $2700.00 or you can choose to reduce the excess to $1500.00 and pay $16 per day. Whichever excess is selected by the hirer the excess liability will be pre-authorised by (Credit Card Services) on the nominated credit card. The excess held, is cancelled once the return of the vehicle has been inspected by our staff. A cash deposit covering the excess option is also available.

SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

Standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) options do not apply to single vehicle accidents, or those accidents in which the driver of the other vehicle cannot be identified and where details of the other vehicle have not been obtained.

FREE KILOMETRES

For one day hire we give 230 free kilometres.
Multiple days hire we give 150km per day i.e. 4 days = 600km.
Excess kms are charged at 32c per km.

EARLY RETURNS/EXTENSIONS

There are no refunds on early vehicle returns as the term of hire is for the period shown on the contract and signed by the hirer. An extension of the hire period must be agreed to by management. If the extension is not agreed to then the vehicle must be returned on the date and time specified on the contract.

OPTIONAL HIRE CHARGES

• Baby Seats $5.00 per day
• Booster Seats $5.00 per day
• GPS Navigation $5.00 per day
• Coolangatta Airport pickups and drop offs have a fee of $50.00 each way. Pickup or drop off can only be done between the hours of 6:00am – 5:00pm (A minimum hire of 2 days or longer applies).

CAR HIRE PAYMENT

Payment for the hire of the vehicles is made in full on arrival. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Cash and EFTPOS. A Credit Card charge of 1.5% is applicable to all credit cards due to the high cost of Merchant Fees from the Banks. Credit Card holders must be present on arrival to sign.

NO SMOKING IN VEHICLES

Our vehicles are hired to you in a clean and smoke free condition. We ask that you return the vehicle in a clean state and smoking is NOT permitted in any of our vehicles. A cleaning fee of $50.00 will apply if the vehicle is returned in a dirty condition. If we detect that smoking has occurred in the vehicle a charge of $100.00 will apply for cleaning and sanitation. No exceptions.

VEHICLE CHOICE

We will endeavour to provide the vehicle of your choice, but all requests are subject to availability and may need to be changed from time to time due to conditions beyond our control.

FUEL

All our cars are supplied with full tanks of fuel and must be returned the same otherwise the following charges apply. For us to refuel 1/4 tank $30.00, 1/2 tank $60.00

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

All vehicles in our fleet are covered by the RACQ breakdown service. If there is a mechanical fault then the cost of the call out is borne by us Broadbeach Bargain Car Rentals. If the call out is required due to the fault of the hirer i.e. flat battery due to lights being left on, locked out, no fuel etc… then the call out fee of $85.00 will apply plus any additional cost associated with the call out.

AREA OF USE

Local – Tweed Heads – Coomera (Dreamworld) also covers the Hinterland area.
G.C. – Brisbane, G.C. – Byron Bay, G.C. – Sunshine Coast, Noosa – Byron Bay
